According to China Customs, in the first eight months of 2026, China's import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 221.95 billion USD, up by 10.1% y/y. Among that, the export value was 71.3 billion USD, up by 8.4%. The import value was 150.66 billion USD, up by 10.9%. Trade deficit reached 79.36 billion USD, expanded by 13.2% year-on-year.

For the month of August, China's import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 28.93 billion USD, up by 7.8% y/y. Among that, the export value was 9.17 billion USD, up by 13.2%. The import value was 19.76 billion USD, up by 5.4%. Trade deficit reached 10.59 billion USD, narrowed by 0.5% year-on-year.
