According to China Customs, in the first five months of 2026, China's import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 132.08 billion USD, up by 9% y/y. Among that, the export value was 43.24 billion USD, up by 5%. The import value was 88.84 billion USD, up by 11.1%. Trade deficit reached 45.59 billion USD, expanded by 17.5% year-on-year.

For the month of May, China's import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 29.55 billion USD, up by 4.3% y/y. Among that, the export value was 8.84 billion USD, up by 5.2%. The import value was 20.71 billion USD, up by 3.9%. Trade deficit reached 11.87 billion USD, expanded by 3% year-on-year.
