According to China Customs, in the first eight months of 2025, China's import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 201.71 billion USD, down by 4.7% y/y. Among that, the export value was 65.81 billion USD, up by 1%. The import value was 135.9 billion USD, down by 7.3%. Trade deficit reached 70.09 billion USD, narrowed by 14% year-on-year.

For the month of August, China's import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 26.85 billion USD, down by 3.4% y/y. Among that, the export value was 8.1 billion USD, down by 3.9%. The import value was 18.75 billion USD, down by 3.1%. Trade deficit reached 10.65 billion USD, narrowed by 2.5% year-on-year.
