According to China Customs, in the first five months of 2025, China's import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 121.21 billion USD, down by 7.6% y/y. Among that, the export value was 41.21 billion USD, up by 3.5%. The import value was 80.0 billion USD, down by 12.5%. Trade deficit reached 38.79 billion USD, narrowed by 24.9% year-on-year.

For the month of May, China's import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 28.33 billion USD, down by 0.05% y/y. Among that, the export value was 8.4 billion USD, down by 1.9%. The import value was 19.93 billion USD, up by 0.7%. Trade deficit reached 11.52 billion USD, expanded by 2.7% year-on-year.
