On August 3, 2026, the first meeting of the China-Brazil Poultry Trade Dialogue Platform was held in São Paulo, Brazil. The meeting was co-hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce of Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce & Animal By-Products (CFNA) and the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), bringing together over 70 participants, including representatives of Chinese and Brazilian poultry enterprises. Representatives from the Chinese Consulate General in São Paulo and the Port of Paranaguá, also attended the meeting.

The meeting was co-chaired by Vice President Ms. Yu Lu of CFNA and President Mr. Ricardo Santin of ABPA. The participants from China and Brazil discussed topics including the production and trade of poultry in both countries and the Guidelines of the China-Brazil Poultry Trade Dialogue Platform and held candid and constructive exchanges on the issues encountered by importers and exporters in trade practice and their proposed solutions.

The 14 participating Chinese enterprises account for 70 percent of China's total poultry imports from Brazil, while the 17 participating Brazilian enterprises represent 90 percent of Brazilian poultry exports to China. The convening of this meeting demonstrated that enterprises from both sides have fully recognized that promoting the long-term, healthy and stable development of China-Brazil poultry trade and continuously strengthening industry self-discipline are the shared responsibility of the two industries. Both sides will continue to strengthen communication on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, mutual respect, and win-win cooperation, jointly address challenges, and contribute industry-driven momentum to the sustainable growth of bilateral poultry trade.
