The 3rd Meeting of China-Italy Food and Agricultural Products Working Group Held Online

The 3rd Meeting of China-Italy Food and Agricultural Products Working Group was held online on April 2, 2026. CFNA and the Italian Trade Agency(ITA)served as the leading organizations of the two sides. Co-chaired by vice president Yu Lu and ITA director Brunella Saccone, the meeting reviewed the work carried out by the working group over the past two years, and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics of mutual concern including the agricultural product trade situation, trade facilitation and trade promotion.

 

 

During the policy exchange session, vice president Yu Lu briefed the Italian side on the relevant content of "accelerating the modernization of agriculture and rural areas and steadily advancing the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas" as stated in the Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) of China. Kazakhstani Ruslan Tulenov, global media officer of Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development, introduced the new opportunities brought by the Hainan Free Trade Port to the Italian side.

 

 

Luo Jin, minister counsellor of the economic and commercial office of the Chinese Embassy to Italy delivered a concluding speech. She affirmed the pragmatic cooperation carried out by the working group, and put forward opinions and suggestions on how the working group could better promote the sound and sustainable development of China-Italy food and agricultural products trade in the next step. Government departments including the department of European affairs of the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Italian Embassy in China, and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation participated in the meeting.
