On March 6, 2026, vice president Yu Lu held a virtual meeting with Birthe Steenberg, secretary general of the Association of Poultry Processors and Poultry Trade in the EU (AVEC).

During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth exchanges on the development of China–EU poultry trade in recent years. Both sides agreed that cooperation in poultry trade between China and the EU plays a positive role in promoting high-quality development of the industry and meeting diversified consumer demand. They also agreed to further strengthen communication and coordination to jointly promote the healthy and sustainable development of China–EU poultry trade.
