President Cao Derong met with Dr. Parthiban Muthukumarasamy, executive director of international programs at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency on Nov. 3. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on expanding China-Canada agricultural trade, technical cooperation, and market access.

President Cao said that China is one of the most stable and largest export markets for Canadian agricultural products, while Canada's high-quality grains, oilseeds, and pulses provide important supply to the Chinese market. Chinese poultry, aquatic products, vegetables, tea, and fruits are of excellent quality and reasonably priced, and he hoped to further expand exports to Canada. China-Canada agricultural cooperation not only benefits the economic development of both countries but also benefits the people of both nations.
