On October 20, president Cao Derong met with a delegation led by Ms. Raquel Lyra, Governor of Pernambuco State, Brazil. The meeting was attended by officials from relevant departments of the state government and Jean Taruhn, commercial counselor of the Brazilian Embassy in China.

President Cao Derong introduced China's agricultural product trade situation and expressed willingness to strengthen practical cooperation with Pernambuco State in the agricultural sector. Governor Raquel Lyra introduced the overall economic and trade situation of the state, as well as its high-quality agricultural product resources including sugar, fruits, and meat, and expressed hope to further expand exports to China. President Cao Derong also invited relevant enterprises from Pernambuco State to participate in the China International Import Expo, as well as events organized by CFNA, including the China International Fruit Expo and the China (International) Fruit Conference.
