President Cao & Vice President Yu Attends Brazil-China Dialogue on Food Security

On the morning of May 14, during the state visit of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to China, the Brazil-China Dialogue on Food Security was held in Beijing. The event was co-hosted by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), the Brazilian Embassy in China, and the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA).

 

President Cao Derong participated in the thematic discussion on "Strengthening Food Security: Contributions of Brazil and China," and the talked with relevant Brazilian associations on the prospects for agricultural product cooperation between the two countries.

 

 

Vice president Yu Lu signed MOU with Guilherme Coelho, president of the Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivatives Exporters (Abrafrutas) and Jorge Viana, president of ApexBrasil. The MOU aims to enhance future cooperation between China and Brazil in the field of fruits and derivative products.

 

 

Jorge Viana, president of ApexBrasil; Carlos Goulart, vice minister of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA); and Silvia Massruhá, president of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Luis Rua, vice minister of MAPA presented the keynote address.
