In recent years, China’s blueberry industry has witnessed remarkable growth, marked by rapid expansion in cultivation areas, production capacity, and trade volume. Nevertheless, the issue of variety intellectual property protection has emerged as a critical challenge, with frequent cases of infringement posing significant obstacles to innovation and sustainable development within the industry.

To address this pressing concern and establish a solid foundation for the industry’s healthy growth, the Blueberry Committee of China Chamber of Commerce of Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-products (CFNA), in collaboration with leading enterprises, has officially released the Blueberry Variety Intellectual Property Protection Initiative. This initiative calls upon all industry stakeholders to prioritize and actively engage in the protection of intellectual property rights related to blueberry varieties.
