Meets With Ministers of Georgia, Cambodia, and Iran
On Nov. 5, president Cao Derong held three meetings with Otar Shamugia, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia; Archil Kalandia, Ambassador of Georgia to China; Svay Nakry, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia; and Mahdi Zeighami, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and President of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran respectively in the pavilion of CIIE.
During the three meetings, president Cao Derong exchanged ideas on the promotion of Georgian wine, poultry and honey exports to China, the promotion of Cambodian grain, nuts and meat exports to China, and the promotion of Iranian nuts exports to China. President Cao Derong also invited the ministers to participate in the alcoholic beverage conference, nut conference, meat conference and other activities hosted by CFNA. After the meeting with the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, president Cao Derong accepted an interview from the Press Centre of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.
Attends the Welcome Reception of the. U.S. Ambassador to China
On the evening of Nov. 5, president Cao Derong attended the welcome reception hosted by U.S. Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns. At the reception, president Cao Derong met with Jason Hafemeister, the Acting Deputy Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA); Robert Hanson, Minister Counsellor for Agricultural Affairs of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing; Stan Born, chairman of the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC); Jim Sutter, CEO of USSEC; and Brent Boydston, chairman of the U.S. Grains Council, and exchange views on promoting the development of agricultural trade between China and the U.S..
