The International Frozen Food Network (IFFN), initiated by the German Frozen Food Institute (Deutsches Tiefkühlinstitut, DTI), held its first International Frozen Food Conference on 8 October 2023 at the Anuga International Food Fair. Vice president Yu Lu was invited to attend the event and had friendly exchanges with the president of DTI, the secretary general of IFFN as well as the president of the American Frozen Food Institute.

The conference brought together international frozen food industry leaders, experts and scholars to discuss the latest developments and future trends in the global frozen food industry and to share national experiences and achievements in frozen food production, trade and consumption. Industrial leaders emphasized the key role of frozen food in providing convenience, sustainability, health, affordability and quality options. In addition, participants discussed the use of innovative technologies in the frozen food sector, the potential of artificial intelligence to enhance transparency in the food supply chain and to provide consumers with detailed information about the origin and handling of their food. Private brand was also a hot topic in the conference. Experts emphasized the importance of brand-driven innovation and emotional connections with consumers. Together, participants predicted continued growth in demand for frozen foods. Driven by convenience, sustainability, safe food supply, climate protection and waste reduction, frozen food will become an enjoyable and convenient option for consumers.

 During the friendly exchanges, vice president Yu Lu expressed her warm congratulations on the success of the conference and emphasized that CFNA would work closely with IFFN to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the international frozen food industry.

During the communication with the president of the American Frozen Food Institute, both sides discussed in depth the development status of the frozen food industry in China and the United States and the prospect of cooperation. The friendly exchanges not only deepened mutual understanding, but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation. 

 The successful convening of the first International Frozen Food Conference has provided a powerful platform for the cooperation and development of the global frozen food industry, and has also promoted international exchanges and cooperation in the field of frozen food. It is believed that with the joint efforts of all parties, the frozen food industry will meet a more prosperous future.
